How To Remove W32.sillyFDC Virus

W32/SillyFDC-D can occasionally copy itself to removable drives, including floppy disk drives and USB Flash Drives . This worm will create a hidden, system file Autorun.inf on the removable drive and copy itself to the same location as the filename "BrO_AcT.exe" and "My SeXy.exe". The file Autorun.inf is designed to start the worm once the removable drive is connected to an uninfected computer.

Temporarily Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP).
2. Update the virus definitions.
3. Reboot computer in SafeMode
4. Run a full system scan and clean/delete all infected files
5. Delete any values added to the registry.
Navigate to and delete the subkey:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Value: "BrO_AcT" = "\BrO-AcT.exe"
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
Value: "svchost" = "\\svchost.exe"

6. Exit registry editor and restart the computer.
